About Us
We are Michael and Louise White and have two young boys, Lucas and Joshua. We have been visiting the Nerja area for the past eight years but have visited the Costa Del Sol for many more. We were introduced to Nerja through friends who own property in the area and we have returned every year since and have now bought a property of our own.
Our experience
Nerja, to us is a lovely traditional Spanish town with numerous beaches, with burriana beach being our favourite. The Burriana area is a 15-
Many shops can also be found along the streets with traditional Spanish goods being available including clothing, bags, scarves and jewellery.
Their are a few options to travel around the area if you don’t wish to walk from using local taxi’s to a horse and carriage at the Balcon or even a motorised train which travels around the town.
Car Hire
We recommend using Auto Europe for hiring a car. We have used it on a number of occasions with no problems. The site shows comparisons for the local car hire providers.
We have recently used vehicles from Budget and Atesa using this site, who are based within the Airport. We also opt for the full to full fuel option as it tends to work out cheaper rather than pre paying for fuel or using the return empty option.
Currency exchange
We often use an agent which is located behind the Church near to the Balcon. We find that their rates are very reasonable and are generally higher than the rates available from the UK.
Also, if you have a Spanish bank account and wish to transfer money from the UK we highly recommend using the company, Transferwise. Their rates are considerably better compared to using our own bank and the process takes three days to complete.
We hope that you have enjoyed viewing our site and we can be contacted by email here.
The beachfront is lined with a number of restaurants with a wide variety of foods are available, from the fantastic paella at Ayo’s to the seafood selection at Jose Cruz. The beach has a number of play areas for children, volleyball courts and many sun-
The town centre is just as enjoyable with many tapas bars and restaurants along the walk down to the Balcon. All roads lead to the Balcon and there are many streets with hidden gems of bars and restaurants and it is worth venturing around and sampling what Nerja has to offer. We particularly enjoy sitting by the Balcon with tapas and a beer watching the world go by. The Balcon area often has a number of entertainers lining the street with artists and performers all providing varied and interesting entertainment.
